FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is ezann free?

Yes. Prayer times, reminders, the 3D qibla, the 3D tesbih, the tracker, and the guide are free, with no ads. The standby clock, detailed widgets, watch apps, extra 3D looks, and Live Activity on iPhone are optional one-time unlocks.

How does the 5-day trial work?

Open the standby clock and start the trial. You don’t enter payment details or create an account. For 5 days the clock is free. After that it locks until you buy it. Nothing is ever charged automatically. So the trial can’t restart after a reinstall, ezann checks a hashed device ID with our server (see the privacy policy).

Are the unlocks subscriptions?

No. Each one is a one-time purchase tied to your App Store or Google Play account. Use Restore to unlock it again on a new device.

Does it work on Apple Watch?

Yes. The Apple Watch app comes with the iPhone app and is a one-time unlock. On Android there is a Wear OS app, also a one-time unlock.

Where do the times come from?

Times follow the Diyanet method. When you’re online they’re fetched for your city; offline, ezann calculates them on your device.

Which languages does it support?

ezann is available in Turkish, English, and Dutch.

Summary

ezann has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics. Optional crash reports go to Google Firebase Crashlytics. Prayer times and city search come from the ezann API, a server we run. The app sends it only what is described below. When you're offline, times are calculated on your device.

Who is responsible

The data controller is U. Demiroz. Contact: [email protected].

Prayer time data

When your device is online, ezann requests prayer times from the ezann API. A request contains the city you chose or the text you typed in city search. Like any server, ours also sees your IP address and the app version when it receives a request. When you're offline, times are calculated on your device.

Location

The app can ask for your location to show times and qibla where you are. This is optional, and you can pick a city instead. If you use your location to find your city, your device's exact coordinates are sent to the ezann API to look up the nearest city. We use them only to answer that request.

Trial and device identifier

To stop the 5-day free trial from restarting every time the app is reinstalled, ezann sends our server a one-way hash of a device identifier, your platform (Android or iOS), and the time your trial started. On Android the identifier is the device's DRM ID; on iOS it is the vendor identifier. The raw identifier never leaves your device and the hash cannot be turned back into it. You cannot reset this identifier. We use it only to prevent trial abuse, never for advertising or tracking, and it is not linked to a name or account.

Legal basis

We process this data to provide the app and to prevent abuse of the free trial. For the trial check and for server requests, our legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing the service and preventing fraud (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Your exact location is used only when you choose to use it, based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw by not using the feature or by turning off location access.

How long we keep data

Trial records (hash, platform, start time) are kept only as long as needed to prevent trial abuse. You can ask us to delete yours. Coordinates sent for city lookup are used to answer the request.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, and portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to [email protected]. You can also complain to your data protection authority, for example the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens in the Netherlands or the authority of your German state.

Data stored on your device

Your city, reminder settings, tracker marks, and preferences stay in the app's storage on your device. Uninstalling ezann removes them.

Crash reports

If the app crashes, ezann can send a crash report to Firebase Crashlytics, a service run by Google. A report holds the technical details of the crash (stack trace, device model, operating system and app version) and a random installation ID that resets when you reinstall. It does not contain your name, location, city, or the trial device identifier, and ezann does not use Firebase Analytics or an advertising ID. Google also receives your IP address when the report is sent. Crash reports are on by default and you can turn them off any time in the app under Settings → About. Debug builds never send them.

Reminders

Azan reminders and notifications are scheduled by your device's operating system. We don't see when or whether they are delivered.

Purchases

Optional unlocks are sold through the App Store and Google Play. Apple or Google handles the payment; we never receive your card details.

Children

ezann is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices ever change, we will update this page and the date above.

Terms of use

Last updated: October 21, 2026.

Summary

These terms apply when you use ezann or buy an unlock. The app is free to download. Unlocks are optional one-time purchases, not subscriptions. Buying one, or continuing to use the app, means you accept these terms.

The app

ezann shows prayer times and related features on your device. You do not need an account. The free features stay available without paying. How the app handles data is described in the privacy policy.

Optional unlocks

Some features are sold as separate one-time unlocks, each for a lifetime on the store account you buy with: the standby clock, the detailed Prayer board widgets, the watch app (Apple Watch on iPhone, Wear OS on Android), extra looks for the 3D tesbih, extra looks for the 3D qibla, and Live Activity on iPhone. The unlocks available on your device and their prices are shown in the app before you confirm. None of them renews, and you are not billed again. We may add further unlocks later. We will not take away access to a feature you paid for without telling you in the app.

Payment and refunds

Google Play or the App Store charges you and handles the payment. We never receive your card details. The store's own terms apply to the charge, including refunds. If the store refunds a purchase, access from that purchase ends. Unlocks are digital content and are available as soon as the store confirms payment.

Restore

An unlock follows the store account that paid for it, not an ezann account. On another device, open the app, sign in to that same store account, and use Restore.

Trial

The standby clock includes a 5-day free trial on your device. No payment details are asked. The trial does not renew and does not turn into a charge. To keep it from restarting after a reinstall, the app checks a hashed device ID with our server, as described in the privacy policy. When the trial ends, the clock locks until you buy it or restore a purchase.

License

We grant you a personal, non-transferable right to use ezann on your own devices. Don't copy, resell, or reverse engineer the app, and don't try to unlock features without a purchase or an active trial.

Changes

We may update these terms and the date above. If you keep using the app after an update, you accept the current terms. A purchase is covered by the terms in effect when you buy.
